Kevin Christensen sank hole in one shot on Sept. 29, at the Victory Ranch Golf Club. Christensen?s shot came on hole No. 14 (155 yards) and came with a pitching wedge.
Fast and Female event
Give girls, age 9 to19, the chance to meet and learn from a dynamic and inspiring group of Olympians and world-class female athletes. the USSA?s Center of Excellence in Park City is preparing to host an once-in-a-lifetime Fast and Female event on Saturday, Oct. 8. the event will be lead by a group of 25 outstanding female athletes representing the sports of alpine skiing, biathlon, cross country skiing, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, freeskiing and speed skating. some of these athletes include two-time Olympic medalist Shannon Bahrke, five-time U.S. Champion Emily Cook, World Championship silver medalist Kikkan Randall and many more. the event will feature an afternoon of fun and non-competitive dryland training followed by a motivational presentation. the activity will conclude with a yoga segment and an autograph signing session. this exclusive event is open to 150 aspiring female athletes who will get first-hand experience from this select group of athletes. all registrations are compiled online at ffparkcityoct2011.eventbrite.com/ . please note that financial assistance is available for participants in need. please contact info@fastandfemale.com to inquire. USA Luge after-school program
Registration has begun for the USA Luge/Youth Winter Sports Alliance Friday after-school luge program. this is a program open to 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students. Cost is $100 and includes coaching, facility use fees, equipment, and required memberships. Registration deadline is Oct.14. the program begins Nov. 4, and runs for the month. Park City tennis youth clinics
Park City Tennis will be starting a new session of youth tennis clinics Monday, Oct. 24. Clinics are available for youth ages 5 through 17 and groups are divided by age and ability levels. Join the USPTA certified professionals as children learn to rally quicker in an exciting environment. the 10-and-under tennis program follows the USTA preferred teaching method for younger children. Fall Session 2 Learn to Skate, Play Hockey
Get ready for winter and hone skating skills at the ice at Park City Ice Arena this fall. Classes begin Nov. 1 or 7, and classes meet on Mondays or Tuesdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. the arena will offer skating classes for all levels, ages 3 to adult. Hockey is available to those future players, ages 5 to 14, who have passed the Snowflurries Learn to Skate class in hockey skates. Skate/Learn to Play Hockey Open House
On Tuesday, Oct.25, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., the Park City Ice Arena invites all skaters, both young and young at heart to join in for an hour of free skating, free skate rentals, and free instruction. a staff of qualified instructors will be on hand to assist skaters and help determine class level. Smarter conditioning for your Winter Sports
The Silver Mountain Sports Club is offering ?Smarter Conditioning for a Winter Sports Workshop on Saturday, Oct. 8, from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Kimball Junction Location/yoga room. this workshop will show participants the essential movements/stretches which are safe, yet powerful giving them the edge they need for optimal conditioning and performance for a great winter season. the cost is $25 and is presented by Sharon Starika, Feldenkrais practitioner, movement educator. to pre-register or for additional information contact Sharon at (435) 655-1989.
Ski Conditioning with PC recreation
The snow is about to fly and Park City Recreation will be offering a ski conditioning class that will be sure to get folks fit to hit the slopes. Classes will be Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m., at the Racquet Club on Iron Horse Drive beginning Oct. 18. Ski conditioning is included with a fitness pass. As the temperatures drop, Park City Recreation is picking up the slack as it boosts the spin schedule for the cooler weather. Starting Monday, Oct. 3, folks can enjoy classes most any time of day. Spin classes
New evening Indoor Cycling (spin) classes are being offered at Silver Mountain Sports Club?s Kimball Junction location. Indoor cycling classes focus on endurance, strength, intervals, high intensity and recovery all in a fun group setting with great instructors and upbeat music to motivate. Join Anna at 5:45 p.m., on Tuesdays or Jesse at 5:45 p.m., on Wednesdays. Indoor Cycling classes are free for Silver Mountain members. Non-members and guests are welcome with a day-use fee.
