Our client is a single family office (SFO) within a private holding company and is located in downtown Seattle. The family has been the owner of a privately held business for over 100 years and the family office has been in existence over 30 years. They are looking for a Client Service Manager/Accountant (CSM) to join their small but select team of professionals. The team strives to seamlessly integrate all matters pertaining to the clients of the office in a highly sophisticated and collaborative manner.
Under the management of the family office president, the primary role of the CSM is to provide support to the clients in order to facilitate their personal financial and operating activities. The CSM will also be responsible for tax planning as well as complex state and federal tax preparations for individuals, trusts, S corps and investment partnerships. Therefore, prior experience with partnership, trust, and individual tax compliance and accounting is a requirement. Candidates must have at least seven years of experience in accounting or tax including experience in areas of: risk management, investments, legal documents, land issues, business issues, corporate governance issues, estate planning, financial planning, and trust administration, among others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical for this role to ensure clear, concise and accurate communication to and on behalf of the family members. The team members work closely and continuously strive for improvement in the services they provide to the clients. The team is deliberately structured as a flat organization so all members of the group are equally encouraged to develop and take on new challenges and responsibilities and to develop their skills to take on the constantly growing responsibilities and situations presented by the clients.

A high degree of adaptability, initiative, and trust worthiness are required to implement continual quality improvement in the company. Because the company is a strictly confidential environment dealing with potentially sensitive matters and issues, a demonstrated ability to handle matters in a confidential and discreet manner is required.

Additional job responsibilities include, among others:
? Prepare tax work papers including allocation of income for investment partnerships to send to outside accounting firm who prepares and signs the tax return.
? Prepare financial statement semi-annually or as requested by client for entities; compile and review year-end reports such as W-2s and Form 1099s.

? Perform regular income tax planning for individuals, trusts, S corps and investment partnerships while considering the overlapping, complex ownership and tax structures

? Research state and federal individual, trust, S corps and investment partnership income tax issues; maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and proposed legislation.

? Explore, research, and recommend tax planning opportunities for the client; implement tax decisions made by client including those with outside entities.

? Audit and/or reconcile records received from third parties such as a custodians or brokerage firms.

? Implement investments recommended by investment advisor and approved by clients.

? Manage liquid assets including cash for individuals, entities, trusts and custodial accounts

? Develop relationships with outside professional so clients have access to up to date planning ideas.

Requirements:
? Public or Accounting firm background preferred

? Prior experience in high-net-worth financial services/support preferred

? Seven years minimum accounting experience

? Degree in Accounting or Finance required

? CPA or JD preferred, but not necessarily required

? Working knowledge for maintaining accounting records for S corps and partnerships

? Ability to work with and communicate with individuals at all organization and sophistication levels; strong interpersonal skills

? Ability to produce high volume of detailed work while maintaining a high level of accuracy

? Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment.
